Dry Carbon vs Wet Carbon: Why MCarbonique
Choose your carbon with confidence. The construction matters, and so does the support behind your build.

Why choose dry carbon?
For a premium carbon build, prepreg construction is a strong place to start. In automotive listings, “dry carbon” commonly refers to prepreg: carbon reinforcement supplied with a controlled amount of resin, then formed and cured under heat using the appropriate vacuum or pressure process.
That control helps manufacturers manage excess resin and trapped air. With the right design and processing, it can produce a well-consolidated laminate with high fibre content and low void content. This is why prepreg is valued for lightweight, high-quality composite parts.
How is wet carbon different?
In wet lay-up, liquid resin is applied to the reinforcement during manufacture. A well-made wet-lay-up part can still be genuine carbon fibre and suitable for its intended use. The result depends on the resin, reinforcement, tooling, lay-up and cure process.
Glossy does not mean wet
“Dry” and “wet” describe construction, not the final shine. Gloss and matte are surface finishes. Judge the stated construction and the specific part, rather than its appearance alone.
What should I check before buying?
- Construction: read the individual listing for dry/prepreg carbon, other carbon construction or ABS.
- Configuration: confirm the model, year, body style and equipment options, including ACC or mesh where relevant.
- Installation: inspect edges and mounting areas, then test-fit before permanent installation.
Weight, strength and fitment depend on the actual part. A manufacturing label alone does not establish a measured performance gain. If a specification matters to your build, ask us about that product before ordering.
Why choose MCarbonique over ordering directly from Alibaba?
You are buying support for a coordinated BMW build as well as a part. MCarbonique brings model-specific shopping, configuration tools and a direct point of contact together in one place.
- Find parts for your BMW. Start with G80/G82, G87 M2, F80/F82 or G90/G99.
- Plan the whole build. Our builders let you choose complementary parts and see your selections and total before adding them to your cart.
- Get help choosing a variant. Send your model, year, equipment and product link to MCarbonique before ordering.
- Know the process. Review our inspection checklist, shipping policy and returns policy in advance.
- Have one contact for order concerns. Bring your order number, photos and relevant vehicle details to us so we can review the issue with the fulfillment partner.
Are marketplace parts always worse?
No. Alibaba includes many independent suppliers, and some products may share manufacturing sources or look similar. Compare the exact construction, configuration, photos, delivery terms and seller support. Our value is helping you choose and manage your build through MCarbonique.
Where will my parts ship from?
Some parts ship directly from fulfillment partners, and multi-part orders may arrive separately. Product-specific QC photos or videos depend on availability; ask us before dispatch if you would like us to check what can be provided.
